This week, our Year 6 pupils were fortunate to spend two days working with Sam from the Anne Frank Trust as part of their Britain at War history unit.
The workshops built upon the pupils' previous learning about Anne Frank and the Holocaust, helping them make important connections between the events of the past and the values we uphold today. Through a range of engaging activities, discussions and collaborative tasks, pupils explored themes of respect, tolerance, prejudice and democracy, while developing a deeper understanding of British values and the importance of standing up against discrimination in all its forms.
The sessions encouraged pupils to reflect on how individual actions can make a positive difference within their communities and beyond. They demonstrated maturity, empathy and thoughtful understanding throughout the two days, engaging respectfully with some challenging and important topics.
We are particularly proud that our long-standing partnership with the Anne Frank Trust has inspired one of our former pupils to become an Anne Frank Ambassador. Following their involvement in the programme during their time at Kibblesworth Academy, they now continue to work with the Trust through secondary school, helping to share Anne Frank's message of hope, respect and understanding with others.
A huge thank you to Sam and the Anne Frank Trust for providing such a powerful and memorable learning experience. The visit has helped our pupils develop not only their historical understanding, but also the knowledge and values needed to become active, respectful and responsible members of society.
